It feels like yesterday we were saying our goodbyes to each other and now we are back at hello. There are many announcements this week because we have a lot going on but please be patient and read through them. I promise it&#8217;s worth it!! I look forward to seeing you all on campus again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Announcements for Everyone:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Tryouts:<\/strong> Tryouts will be happening Saturday, September 17th from 1-3 pm followed by a newcomer lesson from 3-5 pm. I will be sending the forms out in a separate email sometime soon so keep an eye on your inboxes if you are interested in trying out!<\/li><li><strong>Partner Search:<\/strong> We will be hosting our first partner search of the semester on Tuesday 9\/5 from 8:00-9:15 pm outside under the Hatcher Library Overhang. If you are looking for a partner to try out or to attend OSU with, this is the place for you. If you can\u2019t make it, don&#8217;t sweat it, we also have this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/u\/0\/d\/15Y-BDqmDZ3YNI0qS792N6o7pkq6-Ajg7qvOhpU2aFIU\/edit\">partner search spreadsheet<\/a> you can fill out. After the partner search, you can stroll down the block to DTS to practice with your new partner!<\/li><li><strong>Alumni:<\/strong> If you are an alum who wants to use the DTS space please contact us at ballroom-exec@umich.edu to discuss using the practice space before you use it. We are implementing a new policy effective this week.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Team Social Event:<\/strong> Have you missed your ballroom besties? Well, have I got good news for you! This Friday, Sept 1st at the Diag from 5 pm to 7 pm we will have an outdoor gathering with snacks and pop (soda for all of y&#8217;all non-midwesterners). Feel free to bring a blanket to sit on, snacks to share (we will have some), and your friends. This will be open to new folks as well so bring your friends to show them why they should join ballroom if they haven\u2019t already.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Comp Interest form:<\/strong> Thinking about competing this semester? Fill out <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/M3vfznGLK3BJEYPx8\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/M3vfznGLK3BJEYPx8\">this form<\/a> so we can get an idea about how many folks will be going to each comp this year. This helps us prepare adequately and allocate resources for each comp! This form is non-binding so you can always change your mind later.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Showcases:<\/strong> If you are interested in showcasing at the Newcomer Lessons and showing off your awesome dancing skills please s<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/YWmLMXPLWxfydWzX6\">ign up here.<\/a><\/li><li><strong>DTS Hours:<\/strong> DTS will be open normal hours this week except for Thursday (M &amp; T 9:30-11:30 pm, and W 10 pm-12 am). Thursday DTS will be closed. Please go to the newcomer lesson instead!<\/li><li><strong>Extra merch sale:<\/strong> We have a limited amount of extra merch from prior semesters that we are offering for sale! If you\u2019d like another chance to drip yourself out in UMBDT gear for the start of the semester, please check out <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1F2_5FzaHK_ZBXy-nBOJPlPvOf7WfT-gK-OOo4iR774Y\/edit#gid=0\">this spreadsheet<\/a> to see what we have available.
