Jacob and I taught today and it was an excellent American rumba, American tango, and mambo lesson. If you were struggling to nail down the moves, do not worry! You can always visit DTS and get some help from an upper-level team member. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Announcements for Everyone:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Practice Space Schedule:<\/strong> Nicolette has been putting together a schedule for IMSB room availability for those who want additional space to practice. The spreadsheet can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1KPXRFdbM0bcsKp7cA2ZTjqIRonk2yPvfxLTDJQHrI64\/edit?usp=drivesdk\">here<\/a> and it will include availability for IMSB Multipurpose Rooms A and B as well as the Ballroom Club schedule. The schedule can only be done two weeks in advance due to IM policies, so check back regularly.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Comp Interest form:<\/strong> Thinking about competing this semester? Fill out <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe90YrNRVX3TP10iHq3zu52i0SpOedw2EQmGoCM82MswqlzYw\/viewform?usp=sf_link\">this<\/a> form so we can get an idea about how many folks will be going to each comp this year. This helps us make sure we have enough rooms and rides for everyone who wants to go!<\/li><li><strong>Partner Search:<\/strong> Trying to find a partner? We will have an in-person event <strong>Monday, October 16th in 3427 Mason Hall<\/strong>, to facilitate partner searching. We also have a partner search spreadsheet <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/u\/0\/d\/15Y-BDqmDZ3YNI0qS792N6o7pkq6-Ajg7qvOhpU2aFIU\/edit\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>, where you can put in your information and try to find a partner! Note: people on the sheet have to proactively reach out to those they\u2019re interested in dancing with. Overall, we encourage you to try and find a partner, try dancing together at DTS, and maybe even make plans to go to a competition together!&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Extra merch sale:<\/strong> We have a limited amount of extra merch from prior semesters that we are offering for sale! If you\u2019d like another chance to drip yourself out in UMBDT gear for the start of the semester, please check out <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1F2_5FzaHK_ZBXy-nBOJPlPvOf7WfT-gK-OOo4iR774Y\/edit#gid=0\">this spreadsheet<\/a> to see what we have available. Email our treasurer, Owen Hoffend (ohoffend@umich.edu), if you\u2019d like to buy something or if you have any questions.<\/li><li><strong>Liability Waiver:<\/strong> We are now requiring all team members to sign <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeanFnyddtsZcEUeENleySyyutH49lVxOccUqYw09VJwmiRrQ\/viewform?usp=sf_link\">this<\/a> liability waiver. If you have any questions or concerns, email ballroomexec@umich.edu.<\/li><li><strong>VE Vending Day:<\/strong> Our vending day for new and returning members is scheduled for October 5th. If you need shoes or other dance supplies, please fill out <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeXBvwzv0pIx9sRhXKA2HVkzQ-KarG0UOeJfi_jh2S9SzwzzA\/viewform?usp=sf_link\">this form<\/a> by Sunday, October 1st at 11:59 PM.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Rounds instead of Lesson this Thursday!<\/strong> In preparation for OSU\u2019s Ballroom Dance Competition this upcoming weekend, we will be holding rounds instead of a lesson this Thursday. Rounds is an event where we run a mock competition and run through all the dances we compete. NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME, we will have a heat for newcomers to test out what you have learned! We encourage everyone to come and dance (maybe even test out competition dancing with a partner???!!!??!!!???) OwO&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Pre-OSB Rounds:<\/strong> The board is considering booking one of the campus ballrooms for practice rounds before OSB. These would be done in addition to regular Thursday rounds. They would be 6:30-9:30 PM on Wednesday, November 15th in the League Ballroom (2nd floor).
