Purdue is this week and the Ohio Star Ball is right after, so get hype! This week we\u2019ll continue to Meet the Teams with the A team:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Purdue and Ohio Star Ball Rounds<\/strong> &#8211; Review lessons will be replaced by Rounds for the Purdue and the Ohio Star Ball on 11\/13 and 11\/20, respectively. Everyone should come dance, even if you&#8217;re not competing!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Themed Sports Coliseum<\/strong> &#8211; We have moved to the<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/FaLBGgUrJRfGqatC7\"> Sports Coliseum<\/a> for practices. Practice will be held 9-11pm Monday through Thursday. The theme for Wednesday Sports Coliseum this week is Leads and Follows Swap Day! Leads wear follows\u2019 clothing and follows wear leads\u2019 clothes (if you don\u2019t have clothes ask your dance partner or friends!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SAPAC Training<\/strong> &#8211; Because ballroom is a contact sport, we have mandatory SAPAC training that must be completed each year. This year,<strong> SAPAC will be held on November 12th, 6:00-8:00pm in Mason Hall<\/strong>. If you are not available to stay for the entire duration of the training and have not filled out the form already, email Taryn at <a href=\"mailto:tarynry@umich.edu\">tarynry@umich.edu<\/a> with the the subject \u201cSAPAC availability\u201d. Please list if you are completely unavailable or if you are able to attend session 1(6:00-7:00pm) or session 2(7:00-8:00pm).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ohio Star Ball-<\/strong> The best, most fun competition ever is in two weeks on November 22-23. Please ask a board member or refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1_mWWZTyucGkiWlk1yaAaecXAK4dzcBHGilkGIjjLVIE\/edit?usp=sharing\">this guide<\/a> for more information. Registration, rooms and rides, and payment are all due <strong>TONIGHT (Nov 9th)!!!!!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MichComp Committee<\/strong> &#8211; You should help us host our home comp next semester. Her favorite dance is the International Rumba. His favorite dance is the American Foxtrot. Fun fact: He didn&#8217;t take a single heel lead in the American Foxtrot for his first semester on the team. Don&#8217;t be like Nate. Rachel is a senior majoring in Actuarial Mathematics and Economics, and this is her 7th semester on the team. Her favorite dance is the International Cha Cha and the Polka. Fun fact: She broke her arm on September 10th twice, once in 2012 and once in 2015 (which isn&#8217;t a lot, but it&#8217;s weird that it happened twice).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marvin and Claire<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michiganballroomteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-6-600x760.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.michiganballroomteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-6-600x760.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/www.michiganballroomteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-6-300x380.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.michiganballroomteam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/image-6.jpeg 1263w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Marvin is a junior majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics, and this is his 5th semester on the team. Her favorite dance is the Waltz. Her favorite dance is the International Cha Cha. Fun fact: She competed at her first ever OSB while not knowing that she had a broken rib, and she only found out it was broken five months later. Anushka is a graduate student pursuing a degree in Law, and this is her 9th semester on the team.
