Hello my fabulous dancing friends,
First and foremost, CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS to everyone at tryouts yesterday! I am so proud of each of you for going out there giving it your all and for cheering on your fellow teammates to do the same, both at rounds at DTS the night before and the day of – the energy was incredible!
Tryout Results: As Susan mentioned on Saturday, she is planning on passing on the results to me tomorrow night so look for an email from me with that info. For those of you who are placed on an upper level team, look for an email from Katherine after the results are sent out with details about lesson times, start dates, and the do’s and don’ts of attending lessons at the studio. Check your schedules to have your teaching availabilities ready!

Illinois Comp: Illinois is hosting their own home competition again this year, the Illini Dancesport Invitational. Here’s some brief info:
Date/Time/Distance: Saturday Oct 8th. 5 hour drive, leave Friday and return Saturday night.
Registration: $42
If you are interested in attending fill out this interest list by this Friday, Sept 23rd.
Rounds at DTS: We are also going to be trying a new system where we do Standard rounds at the beginning of DTS and Latin rounds at the end on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, we will start with Latin and switch to Standard at the end. This change will encourage us to do all the dances more frequently, as Steve and Susan recommend!

To attend Girls and Guys Night, please have your $60 dues for the semester paid to Emily by tonight, you can pay either at the lesson below or through Paypal or Venmo.
9-10pm: Hustle and Bachata Lesson in the CCRB Mirror Room to prep for Girls and Guys night! Learn some moves to try on that cute girl or guy on Saturday ;)

4:30-6:30pm: Our LAST free welcome week lesson will be hosted in the Pendleton Room in the Union, taught by Steve and Susan. Last push to get our new recruits to officially join!
7:30pm: The party of the semester – Girls and Guys Night! Let’s kick off the semester together and welcome our new team members! Check the Facebook events for details.
Sunday 9/25
4:30-7pm: Club is hosting a workshop in lieu of their normal lessons! The schedule is listed below and you can find details in their Facebook event here. Cost is $5 to attend for the night and will be in Mason Hall, lessons are 45 minutes long and feature some great themes taught by some of our current team members and alumni!
