Happy fall everyone! There are lots of updates for the month and week ahead, so please read this Week at a Glance thoroughly!
Thursday Newcomer Lessons: Hey Newcomers! We are expanding your Thursday lesson times from 9-10pm to 9-11pm. Enjoy the extra hour of learning starting this Thursday!
Ballroom Buddies: Here are the ballroom buddies pairings! Thanks to everyone who signed up, we hope you enjoy meeting with your new team buddy. Returning team member buddies, please reach out to your new team buddy by end of day on Sunday.
Committees Application: Apply to be a part of one of our team’s committees! We have three different committees you can choose to be a part of: Social, Away Competitions and MichComp (our home competition.) Apply here, all members eligible and encouraged to take a leadership role on our team! Plus it’s a great opportunity to get to know your fellow members. Please submit your application by Wednesday, 10/12. Reach out to the board with questions at ballroom-exec@umich.edu.
Apparel: Rep the UMBDT!! Apparel is now available for purchase on our website through October 11th. Check out this semester’s offerings here and email our PR Chair, Neil Sykes, at neilps@umich.edu with any questions.
Purdue Rooms and Rides: GET PUMPED FOR THE FIRST MAJOR COMPETITION OF THE SEMESTER!! The Purdue Comp is right around the corner and will take place on October 22nd this year. There is a possibility that this may be the only comp before the Ohio Star Ball, so all of you should try and make it out. That includes you newcomers!! You do not need a partner to sign up and we will make sure to teach you what you need so that you feel prepared for your first competition :) Here is the Rooms and Rides sign up, please fill out the Google form by midnight this Friday if you plan on attending. Let’s go beat the Boilermakers!
Recruitment Feedback: Hey you. Yes you. Did you attend any of our team’s recruitment events? If you did, (which I bet you did) you are qualified to provide feedback! Fill out this brief Google form so that we can make adjustments to improve the process for next semester!

7-9pm: Katherine, our team’s Curriculum Chair, is hosting a how-to party for competition makeup! If you are interested in attending, please fill out this form. She will send the address out in an email on Tuesday 10/4 to those who have RSVP’d.
Thursday 10/6
9-11pm: Newcomer lesson, CCRB Mirror Room 3275
10-12pm: Vending at DTS! Come get your latin shoes and any other professional gear you may need from our team alumni, Vincent and Daisy, owners of VE Dance. Newcomers – you won’t want to miss this! Please show up at your designated time listed below.

Friday 10/7
4:30pm: UMBDT takes on plenty of donuts and cider at the Plymouth Orchard and Cider Mill! If you are interested in attending this event, please sign up here by 6pm on Thursday. Plan on meeting at the cube at 4:30 to carpool together. Let’s celebrate the start of fall together :)
