Love is in the air! Even if that love is just for dancing, we want to give you the opportunity to celebrate V-day with your favorite team. Check out what is going on this week below:
Ballroom Valentines Results: If you were one of the fabulous folks that filled out the survey in the search for true love on our team, then you can find your match made in heaven/in ballroom here. No gift or future relationship required, however, hugs, hellos or an adventure/meal together are encouraged :)
Through the Grapevine: Introducing our new video series, Through the Grapevine! With this series, we will host conversation topics, games, and other fun stuff with the whole team for your enjoyment :) Our board kicks it off with what we think of Valentine’s Day, here:
Interested in being in next week’s Through the Grapevine video? Submit a 5-10 second video clip of you with your ballroom valentine celebrating together to our lovely tech chair Lizzy (eyxiong@umich.edu) by next Friday and you could be featured in the next video!
OSU Comp Payment: If you are attending Ohio State’s competition this Saturday, please pay your $45 dues by midnight this Wednesday. You can send your cash money through Paypal, Venmo (@UMBDT), cash, or check.
Arnold Rooms and Rides Sign-Up: Arnold Rooms & Rides + Registration is here! The Arnold is our biggest competition of the semester, and is the sister competition to the Ohio Star Ball. This means that points scored at the Arnold contribute to our total score at OSB in the Fall, and is part of why we have been victorious for the last 12 years. Please note that Arnold is always the last weekend of spring break, so think about your travel plans accordingly. To register, do the following:
- Fill out rooms and rides!
- Register using their online registration system here. For our studio, please enter “Michigan Ballroom Dance Team”. Select “ADULT AMATEUR” as your registration type. As always, do not pay through the form, instead pay the team later ($60 for registration per person).
Note that this year, there is an 8 event limit, similar to OSB.Please use a unique password when creating an account on the site. The registration website is old and does not use modern security standards.
Similar to OSB, we need to stay in hotels for Arnold and split the room rates evenly between occupants. If you would like more information or need to make payment arrangements over time, please contact the treasurer Emily Klippel.
EOS Date ACTION REQUIRED: We are trying to find the ideal time for hosting our End of Semester party in April. For the new members, we also have elections for next year’s Executive Board during this event, so it is important to have as many team members there as possible. Please fill out this google form letting us know your preferences by this Friday at midnight.
