Here’s the first “Week at a Glance” for the semester, starting off with announcements:
- Guys and girls night is this Saturday! It’s your favorite night of the semester, so get ready to get dressed up for a night of camaraderie and dancing as we kick off the dancing semester in the best possible way. Come eat, drink, and learn about what it’s like to dance on the team, in this team-wide event you’ll be talking about for days to come. Private event information to follow via the paid membership email list.
- Free lessons all throughout this week! We’ve got a stacked line up for lessons for you this week — check out the schedule below. After this lesson on Saturday, we’d love for you to join the team! With a semester packed with fun dance lessons and awesome social events, you’ll wish you’d have joined sooner.
- DTS resumes normal schedule. Unless otherwise noted on the calendar, come practice at DTS at the normal times noted on the schedule or calendar.

Monday 9/25
9-11pm: Free Hustle and Bachata Lesson! Come learn our favorite social dances in preparation for Guys and Girls night in a fun lesson taught by our expert team members. Location: Intramural Sports Building, Multipurpose Room A

Thursday 9/28
9-11pm: Free Newcomer Review Lesson! Missed the lesson last Saturday, or just want to come back for more? In this two hour lesson, you’ll catch up on what we’ve been doing in the newcomer lessons: cha-cha, tango, and swing. Location: Intramural Sports Building, Multipurpose room A.
10-12pm: Open Practice at DTS
Friday 9/29
UMBDT SPIRIT DAY!!! Everyone wear some Michigan Ballroom gear to advertise for tomorrow’s last free lesson and rep our team with pride :)
Saturday 9/30
5-7pm: Free Newcomer Lesson! Come join us for the last free lesson, in which we’ll wrap up our cha-cha, tango, and swing lessons with some awesome moves you wont want to miss. After this, team membership is required to attend the lessons so be sure to pay dues! Cash, check, card, Venmo, and Paypal are all accepted at any of the lessons. Be sure to join soon because starting next week, we’re teaching 3 brand new awesome dances to add to your repertoire.
8:00pm – ???: Guys and Girls Night!! Join us for the best night of the semester, and learn all about the team in the process. More information, times, and locations will be sent out to our paid email list, so be sure to join by Saturday!!
Sunday 10/1
Did you know?? Your ballroom team membership comes with a complimentary membership to the ballroom club! The Ballroom Dance Club meets once a week on Sundays and provides a relaxed, social environment to learn ballroom for the wider Ann Arbor community. You do not need to be a student to attend. Check out their dance schedule for this Sunday here, meeting in the Union Pendleton Room:
