Hi team,
First and foremost, congratulations to everyone who participated in tryouts! I was blown away by the energy and passion in the mirror room on Saturday, it was so much fun to watch and see how much you have all improved since September. The results should be out some time on Monday, so keep an eye on your email inboxes for emails from me and your lovely curriculum chair Madeline about your new team placements! Upper level lessons will start with B-team on Tuesday.
- Recruitment help needed! We had a great first lesson on Saturday, so let’s keep the energy up at our second lesson this Saturday, 5-6.30pm in CCRB 3275! Our greatest asset for recruitment is our wonderful current team members who welcome newbies and convey their infectious enthusiasm for dance! Winter semester recruitment mostly happens through word of mouth, so your participation is especially important 🙂

Step 2: Attend newcomer lesson on Saturday, dance with the newcomers and tell them why ballroom is the best club on campus!
Step 3: Sign up to perform a showcase! Here’s the form, the deadline is this Friday (1/17) at 11.59pm!
- MichComp committee: It takes a village to put on an event as spectacular as our very own home competition MichComp, which will be on April 4th this year (mark your calendars!). Our lovely Home Comp chair Corey is seeking some dedicated volunteers to assist with tech, logistics and advertising for the big day! This is a great chance to gain leadership experience and lend your talents to our team. The time commitment will be about 4-6 hours a month until March, when it will slightly increase depending on your role. Anyone on the team from newcomers to A-team is welcome to apply! You can find more info and sign-up here, the deadline for applications is this Sunday (1/19) at 11.59pm.
- Competitions this semester: Competition season is fast approaching! Check out the dates for winter competitions and indicate your provisional interest in attending here (deadline: Friday 1/17 at 11.59pm). Look out for emails from your amazing Away Comp chair Natalie for more information closer to the date of each competition!
