Here’s our last WAG for the semester! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to celebrate together last night at EOS and today at our last lesson and showcase event of the semester!! I can’t believe we’ve come to the end of the semester already, but I am thankful for all of the fun memories and excited to see what next semester has in store for our team!
- Save the date! Tryouts will be Saturday, January 15th! A sign-up form and more details will be sent out soon, but now is a great time to start looking for a partner to try out with! Check out the partner search spreadsheet if you are looking for someone to dance with next semester :)
- Get ready for winter recruitment and showcases! We’re still in the process of finalizing the dates for our winter recruitment events, but now is a great time to start planning your showcases to perform next semester! Sign up will be available soon…
- Practice space this week: DTS will operate on the normal schedule this week (Mon-Thurs), see the schedule below for times! There are no more newcomer lessons for the rest of the semester, join us at DTS instead this week for some end of semester practicing! Additional DTS dates for the rest of 2021 are TBD and will be announced if they are made available.
- End of Semester Balances: Be on the lookout for an email from our wonderful Treasurer Liam with all the final costs due to the team for the semester! Please pay all balances promptly and contact Liam (dliam) with any questions!!
- Team Closet: Please return all team closet items/other items borrowed from your team-mates to Tiffany if you have not done so already!!
- Lost and Found: If you have lost items this semester and have not yet picked them up please make arrangements to do so before heading out of town for the semester! Items include: Black jacket, green bag, green shoe brush, blue socks
- Board Contact Form: Please use this form to give feedback to the board about anything you would like to tell us about this semester! The form can be fully anonymous so please give us your honest feedback. We are particularly interested in ways that we can help to continue to make ballroom a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for everyone in coming semesters!! As always, you are also encouraged to reach out to the board anytime, we are always here to help in any way we can 🙂
Looking Further Ahead…
- Mark your calendars for the Arnold… The Arnold Youth Dancesport Classic, the sister competition to OSB, will be March 5-6th, which is the last weekend of spring break. Not only is this competition as big and awesome as OSB, the points we earn from Arnold add on to our next OSB score, thus making it essential for defending our title next year! Be sure to arrange your spring break plans so you can dance for the Terminator himself, who makes an appearance every year in the ballroom!!!
- Consider Running for Board: Next semester at EOS we will be electing our new board for the 2022-2023 school year! Start thinking about if you would be interested in taking on a leadership role within the ballroom team next year, and feel free to reach out to the current board members with any questions you may have! Descriptions of the different board positions can be found here :)
