Hi Team,

Congratulations to everyone who competed at MSU this weekend! It was great to be back to competing this semester and see how much all of you have grown as dancers since last semester :) We have some very important and fun ballroom events coming up soon, so read on for all the info:

Announcements for Everyone:

Apparel: Reminder that apparel orders are due tonight at 11:59 pm!! Please remember to place your orders and fill out your amazing PR chair Manasi’s order form for tracking purposes before the deadline! See Manasi’s apparel email for more info :)
Guys, Gals, Pals, and Vals: Get hype for our first party of the semester! This weekend we will be combing our welcome to the team party: Guys, Gals, and Pals Night, with our valentines day celebration! Be on the lookout for an email with more information coming closer to Saturday!
Team Closet: If you borrowed anything from the team closet for MSU please wash and return all items to your fabulous recruitment chair Tiffany ASAP!! This is super important so that everything will be ready for the next borrower!
MSU Gas Reciepts: Drivers please send your wonderful treasurer Liam all gas reciepts ASAP for reimbursement!!
MSU Videos: Your awesome tech chair Nathan is working on uploading all the videos from this weekend to our Youtube channel. Check out all the videos from MSU at this link, several rounds may be combined into one video so check the timestamps on the longer videos to find your round :)
Ballroom Valentines: This year we are bringing back ballroom valentines! Look out for an email coming soon from Tiffany with more information and the valentine form :)
Partner Search: Couldn’t make it to our partner search event last week, or still looking for someone to practice or compete with this semester? Check out our partner search spreadsheet! Reminder: it is up to you to contact potential partners from the sheet, and please remove your information if you are no longer partner searching!
Team Intros: Every week we will be introducing members of each of our upper level tryout teams! First up is the Pre-C, scroll to the bottom of the WAG to see all our awesome Pre-C dancers :)

Team GroupMe: To help keep everyone up-to-date on all things ballroom this semester we have two GroupMe chats! Our serious chat is for updates on all things ballroom, such as lesson/practice updates, competition information, and other reminders. We also are introducing a fun chat this semester for all your ballroom memes, jokes, and general shenanigans. Here are the links for both groups: Serious Chat and Social Chat 🙂

Looking Further Ahead…

February 15th: SAPAC Training! We will be hosting our mandatory SAPAC training next Tuesday at 9:30 pm. Be on the lookout for an email from Manasi with some more information closer to the date, and if you are not able to attend the training please let her know ASAP for a makeup opportunity. SAPAC training is mandatory for all members of the team and must be completed at least once per year for all team members (returning members who attended SAPAC training last semester with the ballroom team do not need to attend this semester as well). Doing SAPAC training for a different organization or campus position does not count, you will still need to complete the ballroom-specific SAPAC training. If you do not complete the training you will not be allowed at social events for the rest of the semester!

March 5-6th: Arnold Competition! Our biggest competition of the winter semester is less than a month away! The Arnold Youth Dancesport Classic is on the last Saturday and Sunday of spring break, and you don’t want to miss it! The points we earn from Arnold contribute towards our score at next year’s nationals, thus making it essential for defending our title for the sixteenth consecutive year. Be sure to save the date and plan to get back early if you’re travelling so you can dance for the Terminator himself, who makes an appearance every year in the ballroom!!! Be on the lookout for more information from your wonderful away competition chair Lauren coming soon!

March 11th: Dance Mix! It’s your favorite spectacular end of year dance show, and some of your very own teammates will be performing a Latin formation again this year!

PreC: Please remember that you have lesson on Monday (2/7) with S&S and Saturday (2/12) in the CCRB this week!
