Shoutout to everyone who participated and supported our team at DanceMix this weekend! <3
Hi Team,
It was great seeing so many of you come out to support our team at DanceMix this weekend, as well as at newcomer lesson today to learn the Vienesse Waltz and Samba! This week we have lots of opportunities for practice as well as our very first guided practice in the CCRB so there will be plenty of chances for everyone to keep improving on everything we went over today and more! Read on for all the important details on when and where to practice, pick up apparel, and party with the team this week :)
Announcements for Everyone:
- Arnold Reciepts: Please submit all hotel and gas reciepts to our awesome treasurer Liam ASAP!! If you do not submit reciepts we cannot properly split the comp expenses!
- Arnold Videos: Arnold videos are in the process of being uploaded to YouTube! We highly recommend that once the videos are up you take the time to go through and watch your performances to see where you can improve for next time! In the meantime, you can also check out some of the photos from the arnold here (shoutout to Lauren for taking some awesome shots this weekend!) 🙂
- Team Closet: Please wash and return all team closet items ASAP so that they can be ready for the next borrower!
- Apparel: If you still need to pick up your apparel there will be opportunities to do so at DTS on Monday and Wednesday this week and at guided practice in the CCRB on Thursday!
- Guided Practice: This Thursday we will be starting guided practices in the CCRB during the normal newcomer lesson time (9:00-11:00 pm)! Guided practice is a time for you to work on all the fun dances you have been learning so far this semester, as well as ask questions and recieve feedback from the upper level team member instructors! It is highly recommended that you attend guided practice if you are able to do so as it is one of the best opportunities to recieve feedback and advice to improve your dancing! This guided practice time overlaps with the DTS time, and all PreC and beginning level members are strongly encouraged to go to guided practice instead of DTS on Thursday!
- Partner Search Spreadsheet: Still looking for someone to practice or attend our last competition of the semester with? Check out the partner search spreadhseet here! Please remember to clear your info from the sheet if you are no longer looking for a partner so that folks know who they should reach out to :)
- St. Patrick’s Day Party: Get hype for our team’s annual St. Patrick’s Day party coming up this Saturday (3/19)! Keep an eye on your inbox for an email from our awesome recruitment chair Tiffany with all the important details :) Remember to wear green (if you have some, no pinching folks who don’t!) and get ready dust off your hustle and batchata!
- Ballroom Club: The Ballroom Dance Club is an organization on campus which teaches lessons and offers open dance for students and the greater Ann Arbor community. They will be having their first dance back since covid this Sunday (3/20) from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Michigan League! There will be a lesson taught at 5 pm followed by an open dance and the event is completely free to attend! If you have time I highly recommend considering going, as it will be a great way to get some extra practice in the league ballroom :) Check out the facebook event here or their website here!

April 9th: Mark your calendar for the Irish Dancesport Gala! The annual Irish Dancesport Gala hosted at Notre Dame is coming up on April 9th! This will be our last competition of the season!! Be on the lookout for more information coming from your wonderful Away Comp Chair Lauren later this week🙂
April 16th: End of Semester Celebration and Board Elections! Highlights of EOS include: food, supurlatives, senior send offs, and most importantly…the election of our new board! More information on running for board will be coming out in April, but start thinking now if you would like to join our amazing board to help our team continue to grow and flourish next year! If you have any questions about being on board or a specific position feel free to reach out to any of our current board members!
