Happy fall break! I hope you are getting the rest and recovery you need and getting ready for Purdue and OSB! I can’t wait to see some of you do terrific at your first comp on Saturday or just see some of you at DTS this week.
Special Announcements for Everyone:
- DTS and Newcomer lesson: No DTS Thursday go to rounds instead. On Sunday the 23rd we will be in the multipurpose room (up the stairs on the left) in the IM building. Please do not go to the CCRB we will not be there.
- Teachers: No one but the A team should be teaching you new moves, technique, or offering styling advice. If you have a more advanced partner than yourself who wants you to learn new moves politely say “Let’s ask ___ A Team member to teach it to me” so that you get the correct information. It is incredibly easy to pick up bad habits or incorrect technique so please refrain from this and come ask an A team member.
- Ballroom Buddies: Want to be matched with an upper-level team member? Fill out this form by this Thursday (10/20) to find a ballroom buddy. Ray and Luna will be match-making everyone so you find the perfect person to answer all of your team or dance-related questions. Your buddy will help you navigate the team, comps, and everything in between.
- Purdue Comp: For those of you going to Purdue, look out for a Rooms and Rides email from Amy sometime this week! You will have 48 hours to contact her after the email is sent if you would like to request any changes or see any errors. Afterward, no requests will be honored.
- OSB interest form: Our biggest and coolest competition of the year will be on November 19th and 20th (right before Thanksgiving). If you want to compete we highly suggest that you go to this one! Here is the link. PLEASE FILL OUT THE OSB INTEREST FORM IF YOU ARE EVEN THE TINIEST BIT INTERESTED. It is not a commitment but rather a tool for us to use to see how many rooms and rides we will need.
- Shoe Vending: if you purchased follow latin shoes or any heels that need heel caps, the team will be purchasing enough for everyone who bought a pair of heels at shoe vending night plus a couple of extra. If you would like to get the heel caps through the team we require that you pay us the amount that VE is going to charge us and then you can pick them up at DTS or Rounds this week. We won’t know how much each pair of heel caps will cost until after we visit VE on Monday but we recommend you get them through VE so you know that they will fit your shoes. They will not be more than $10 per pair and will likely be closer to $5 per pair. If you have questions feel free to email us.
