Hi Team,
Welcome back after Purdue. WOW look at us after a successful day of competition! I am incredibly proud of all of you for going and giving it your best. I was also told by one of Purdue’s Captains that Michigan did a great job cleaning up so that is awesome. Thank you all for being responsible and cleaning up any messes we made during the day. Steve and Susan taught at the IM building today three new dances: American Waltz, Samba, and Quickstep! If you want to review what we learned or learn it for the first time go to the lesson on Thursday or on Sunday or stop by DTS and ask an A team member for help.
Special Announcements for Everyone:
- New Website: Make sure to check out our new website that Owen put a ton of time and effort into (send him many praises and thanks for making it look amazing)! @ https://www.michiganballroomteam.com/
- Team Apparel: Want some sick-looking swag to represent the team like our cool track jackets? Ray will be sending out an email later this week with the information to purchase our sweet apparel.
- Halloween Party: We will be hosting a Halloween party (costumes recommended) this Saturday, details to come!
- Partner Search: We will be hosting our final partner search of the semester on Tuesday 10/25 from 7:30-9:30 pm in Mason Hall Room to be determined (I will email y’all before 7:30 on Tuesday with the exact location). If you are looking to go to OSB but don’t have a partner yet this is perfect for you. If you can’t make it don’t sweat it, we also have this OSB specific partner search spreadsheet you can fill out. After the partner search, you can stroll down the block to DTS to practice with your new partner!
- Ballroom Buddies: For those of you that filled out the form you will have a brand new buddy sometime this week! Keep an eye out for the email.
- Purdue Comp Receipts: You have until Tuesday 10/25 5:00 pm to send Jason your receipts. No receipts, no reimbursements, no exceptions!
- OSB: Get hype for Ohio Star Ball!!! Look out for an email from Amy with information for OSB early this week. It’ll be a long one but please READ THE WHOLE EMAIL, it contains a lot of important due dates and forms!
- SAPAC: Due to the nature of our team, we are constantly trying to make sure that we create a safe environment where everyone feels safe and comfortable. One of the things our team does in efforts to host our Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center, or SAPAC workshop. This is a required workshop that will happen virtually on Tuesday November 1st, from 9:30-11:30pm. If you can not attend this event, fill out this form here and we will schedule a way for you to make up the meeting.
- Ballroom Club Halloween Social Dance: Want more time dancing or a fun Halloween themed social event? Why not both?! The Ballroom Club (not the team) is hosting an event on Sunday in the Michigan League Ballroom. It will be after the lesson so you can take your dancing shoes right on over for some more dancing fun!
