10/30/22 Week at a Glance

Your fav team all dressed up for lesson!

Hi Team,

Happy Halloween!! I hope you had a fun weekend whether you went to our social event on Saturday, came to the lesson on Sunday, or made it to the club lesson on Sunday. I certainly had fun at all three! I am excited to see you all on Tuesday at the mandatory SAPAC training and at the practice on Thursday. I hope you are just as excited as I am to learn more about consent and bystander intervention. We have two more weeks as of Friday before we leave for OSB so get hyped up but also now is the time to work out those kinks in the dancing at DTS. Woohoo, it’ll be so much fun!

Special Announcements for Everyone:

  • Asking Questions: Please make sure that before you reach out with a question, you have read the wag or associated email and are not asking a question that can be answered. This helps us to spend more time on the dancing and less time on the logistical questions.
  • Team Apparel: Want some sick-looking swag to represent the team like our cool track jackets? Fill out this form by Wednesday and venmo the team the amount you owe. If you are late you won’t get any apparel :(
  • Partner Search: We have this OSB specific partner search spreadsheet you can fill out and reach out to those on the list. Remember that OSB R&R is due on Tuesday the 1st at 11:59 pm so (quickstep) hop on finding a partner before then so Amy can make sure you get a Room and a Ride.
  • OSB: If you are going to OSB and want a place to sleep, please fill out R&R here and pay the $15 down payment by TUESDAY, NOV 1!!!!! LATE FEE $10 PER DAY if you fill it out late and we have to chase you down-> Go TBA if you can’t find a partner
  • SAPAC: Due to the nature of our team, we are constantly trying to make sure that we create a safe environment where everyone feels safe and comfortable. One of the things our team does in efforts to host our Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center, or SAPAC workshop. This is a required workshop that will happen virtually on Tuesday November 1st, from 9:30-11:30pm. If you can not attend this event, fill out this form here and we will schedule a way for you to make up the meeting.
  • Movie: So we were contacted by a group of film students who are making a movie that is related to Ballroom and they’ve asked us to be extras in their film. They are filming on Friday the 4th from 5-7 pm in a currently unknown location and have asked us to come in our standard/smooth best. I will be sending out an email later in the week with the details but it will be filmed somewhere on campus. Not only is this cool as heck but also there will be snackies for the extras. So you should all go and be extras in this movie with me and get food for it.
