Picture of the team after Latin on Saturday!
Hi Team,
We did it! 17-time OSB winners, 1st place in the international style team match, and 3rd in the American team match and that’s not including the many ribbons and callbacks each of you got! I do not have words to express how proud I am of all of you for trying something new or doing something you love doing. What a tenacious group of people who love the waltz (and the foxtrot and the quickstep, etc.)! I am so excited for all of you to continue on your dancing journeys with the team and learn even more than you know now.
Special Announcements for Everyone:
- Lost and Found: If you left something at OSB and you want it back please let me know by next Sunday or else I am donating it to the team closet. Please email or dm me on GroupMe with a pickup time and place. Failure to do so will result in both of us being sad because I won’t have your things with me unless I know at least a day in advance.
- Receipts: Send any and all receipts to Jason Lin (shuhang@umich.edu) ASAP!! The charges for hotels, gas, and parking will be distributed accordingly. Your team balance must be paid in order to attend the End of Semester celebration.
- OSBingo: If you played OSBingo, make a folder for your car and place your entries here before December 1st!
- Team closet: Please wash and air dry the items you borrowed from the team closet and hand them back to Luna in a timely fashion. We are trying to organize and label each item to make it easier for folks to borrow things but we can’t do this if we don’t have the items.
- SAPAC Makeup: To anyone who missed the SAPAC workshop, you will need to fill out this form as a makeup. Note that we will be checking who fills out the form. You will need to complete this before our End of Semester Party (aka EOS) or you will not be eligible to attend. You will also be ineligible to participate in any of our social events in the future. Please take this seriously. We will be reading all answers, and if we decide that your answers are insufficient, we may ask you to attend a makeup workshop with Ray later this week to make sure you know all the content. If you attended the workshop you do not need to fill out the form.
- Holiday Showcases: It’s the winter celebration stretch, and about time to start rockin’ around the CCRB! Our Holiday Showcases will be happening on December 8th from 9-11 pm at the CCRB! Everyone is welcome to do a showcase, no matter your dance level! We would love to see everything you’ve learned so far! There will be a sign-up so we know what song and dance you would like to do but for now, just start thinking about it!
- EOS: End of Semester aka EOS. It is our last hurrah for the semester and involves a semi-formal potluck in North Quad and gives us a chance to say goodbye to our graduating seniors for winter graduation. Please mark it down on your calendars for December 10th starting at 7 pm. There will be more info coming your way soon so please keep an eye out if you’d like to attend.
- Newcomer Lesson and DTS: DTS will be open during normal hours on Monday and Tuesday but closed on Wednesday and Thursday. There is also no lesson on Thursday the 24th or Sunday the 27th because of the break. Our next lesson will be on Thursday the 1st.
- OSB Videos: Keep an eye out on our youtube page, link found here, for the OSB videos so you can watch yourself dance and show your family over break.

I think I made a single quarter-final at my first OSB and look at where I am now! There is always room for improvement we can’t wait for you all to keep getting better! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please let me know!
Love,
