Hi Team,
Welcome to tryouts and free lesson week! Bring your friends and show off your dancing with a partner of your choosing for our showcases. Please make sure you read through the full email as there are lots of important things going on this week.
Special Announcements for Everyone:
- Dues: if you are trying out, dues are due on the 11th of January and will be $65. If you are not trying out they are due on the 19th of January.
- Free lessons: They start on Sunday the 8th from 3-5 in the IMSB and follow our normal schedule except for the 15th which is from 12-2 pm.
- Showcases: Can’t get enough of showing your newfound dancing skills to other people? Sign up for our Winter ’22 Showcases! You get to show off to the new newcomers everything you’ve learned! Please fill out this form *here* by January 10th if you’d like to showcase with us!
- Comp schedule: In love with competing??? Get excited for the biggest competition of the Winter Semester: The Arnold Dancesport Classic on March 4-5, 2023! (This is the last weekend of spring break so start arranging plans early!) Help us earn points for next year’s OSB and also see the man himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger :) If you are interested in competing in more competitions, check *here* for the full competition schedule for next semester.
- Tryouts: The tryouts form and dues are due Thursday at 11:59 pm for those who are trying out.
- Michcomp Committee: Are you excited for Michcomp? This year, we are holding our own competition on April 15th. If you want to help us make sure everything runs smoothly, consider applying to be part of the Michcomp Committee! This is a low-commitment job that would only require a couple of hours a week. It would greatly help ease the load that’s put on our poor overworked board members, and it is a great way to contribute back to the team! Also, the people on the committee will receive compensation in the form of Ray’s eternal love and devotion. Apply here!
- Comp interest form: Please fill out the competition interest form if you haven’t already done so! This form is non-binding and is only to gauge interest. We are once again scrambling for rooms for the Arnold so it is imperative that you fill out the form even if you have the slightest chance of going.
- Music suggestions: Do you have an earworm that you want to dance to? Fill out this form *here* so we can add your favorite music to our playlists!
