Hi Team,
T-minus five days until we leave for CMU! Steve and Susan taught some cheeky international cha-cha, jaunty quickstep, and spicy jive. If you missed it, you can get the info at DTS but keep in mind the A team needs time to practice too. Plus we have an A team couple everyone loves (Can and Eda) who will be able to answer all of your questions on Thursday at the Guided Practice!
Special Announcements for Everyone:
- CMU Camera person: We need you! That’s right you amazing CMU competitor. We (the board and the whole team) need your help. In order to make sure the team gets to watch their videos we need a few volunteers who are already going to CMU to help set up the camera and manage it through the day. If you are interested please email ballroom-exec@umich.edu detailing your excitement.
- CMU R&R: Amy sent out the R&R today so make sure you read it and reach out to your drivers!
- Arnold Dancesport Classic: Keep an eye out for an email from Amy tomorrow with the deets for the long-awaited Arnold Classic!
- DanceMix: What’s a DanceMix? It’s only a performance of the best dance orgs (including your favorite, the MBDT) on campus. When, you may ask? March 24th at 7 pm in the Power Center. Tickets will be $10 and they sell out fast. I will be sure to send y’all a link when it becomes available. You can catch the A team showing off the best choreo created by Steve and Susan on stage.
- MSU Videos: Give a big thank you to Owen for staying up all night and getting the videos uploaded in record time. Please visit our youtube page (TheMBDT) to see yourself dancing up a storm! OMG don’t forget to like and smash that subscribe button down below!
- Michcomp Committee: Are you excited for Michcomp? This year, we are holding our own competition on April 15th. If you want to help us make sure everything runs smoothly, consider applying to be part of the Michcomp Committee! This is a low-commitment job that would only require a couple of hours a week. It would greatly help ease the load that’s put on our poor overworked board members, and it is a great way to contribute back to the team! Also, the people on the committee will receive compensation in the form of Ray’s eternal love and devotion. Apply here!
- Shoe Vending Day Part Two: PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BUYING SHOES!!!. We will be going to VE on Thursday, February 16th from 7-11 pm and we need people to drive or else we are taking a group trip on the bus (it’s free with your mcard). Please sign up to drive a car of people if you have a car that can drive people. You do not have to drive the whole time, just once, taking yourself and the car of people to and from a central location on Central Campus. The form is due February 13th at 5 pm if you need an extension for some reason you must contact the board before the form is due. If you would like to go with the team please fill out this form even if you filled out the last form. IF YOU DO NOT FILL OUT THE FORM YOU WILL NOT BE GOING WITH THE TEAM. If you can’t go with the team on the 16th, you can contact Daisy (an alum from the team who owns VE) and set up an appointment to get shoes by contacting her number at this website https://www.vedance.com/.
- Lost and Found: I have three items in my possession that were left behind at MSU. They consist of a large blue water bottle, a black vest, and a black clip-on bow tie. If any of these belong to you, you have one week to claim them or else they are going to be donated to the team closet. I will be sending a picture in the announcements GroupMe.
- MSU Receipts: Please email scanned copies of gas receipts to Jason Lin (shuhang@umich.edu) before midnight on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, to get reimbursed. Consider it his Valentine’s Day present!
- STICKERS: What better way to decorate your laptop, hydro flask, or mirror at home than with stickers? We will be selling team stickers here. Stickers will be $3 each, and are hand drawn by our wonderful recruitment chair Luna! Orders are due next week Tuesday, Feb 21st.
