3/5/23 Week at a Glance

Hi Team,

Picture of the team after a successful weekend at the Arnold Classic! I am so proud of each and every one of you who went and danced! We are winners of the Arnold Classic this year and every single one of you who danced contributed to the points leading to our victory. In addition, we placed first in the international-style team match and second in the American-style team match. So a huge thank you to all of our team match dancers!! We are now over halfway through the semester and have two more competitions left!

Special Announcements for Everyone:

  • Elections for Board: Please keep an eye on your inbox for an email from me with the information about elections. We will be having our vote on April 8th at the End of Semester party. If you are interested in running you will be required to give a speech at EOS detailing your platform so make sure your calendar is clear if you would like to run. In addition, if you want to run for a position but are unable to due to team qualifications (must be a member of X team) please let the board know by emailing us at ballroom-exec@umich.edu. We can offer waivers for qualifications if you have additional experience you feel would be helpful. When in doubt, talk to a member of the board and we will help you navigate the process!
  • DTS: Please do not open the windows at DTS. In addition, if you use any of the fans that can be plugged in make sure you unplug them before you leave. Thank you.
  • DanceMix: What’s a DanceMix? It’s only a performance of the best dance orgs (including your favorite, the MBDT) on campus. When, you may ask? March 24th at 7 pm in the Power Center. Tickets will be $10 and they sell out fast. I will be sure to send y’all a link when it becomes available. You can catch the A team showing off the best choreo created by Steve and Susan on stage.
  • Michcomp Committee: Are you excited for Michcomp? This year, we are holding our own competition on April 15th. If you want to help us make sure everything runs smoothly, consider applying to be part of the Michcomp Committee! This is a low-commitment job that would only require a couple of hours a week. It would greatly help ease the load that’s put on our poor overworked board members, and it is a great way to contribute back to the team! Also, the people on the committee will receive compensation in the form of Ray’s eternal love and devotion. Apply here!
  • Arnold Receipts: Please send your receipts to Jason shuhang@umich.edu before Tuesday at 11:59 pm. No receipts, no reimbursement, no exceptions!
