3/12/23 Week at a Glance

Hi Team,

I hope you are back to your normal schedules post-break! Today at the lesson S&S taught the International Cha-Cha, Paso Doble, and Jive. Yes, you read that right, Paso. If you missed out, there will be plenty of time to catch up later in the week, especially on Thursday at guided practice. I hope to see you sometime this week at DTS or lesson on Sunday!

Special Announcements for Everyone:

  • Elections for Board: There was an email sent out by me (Erika) on March 9th with the details on how to run for the board for next year. If you have any questions about positions or things you would like to run for, please reach out to a current member of the board. If you did not receive this email but are interested please let me know ASAP!
  • DanceMix: What’s a DanceMix? It’s only a performance of the best dance orgs (including your favorite, the MBDT) on campus. When, you may ask? March 24th at 7 pm in the Power Center. Tickets will be $10 and they sell out fast. Please follow this link for tickets. You can catch the A team showing off the best choreo created by Steve and Susan on stage.
  • Post DanceMix Social: If you are interested in getting down with us after watching the DanceMix performance by the A team, we will be headed to Club Above after the performance on March 24th.
  • Michcomp Committee: Are you excited for Michcomp? This year, we are holding our own competition on April 15th. If you want to help us make sure everything runs smoothly, consider applying to be part of the Michcomp Committee! This is a low-commitment job that would only require a couple of hours a week. It would greatly help ease the load that’s put on our poor overworked board members, and it is a great way to contribute back to the team! Also, the people on the committee will receive compensation in the form of Ray’s eternal love and devotion. Apply here!
  • Shout Outs: What is a shout-out? A shout-out is an encouraging note written by friends and family to team members, usually accompanied by a picture, that is printed in the Michcomp program! Shout-outs are a fun, easy way to support our dancers and the team during MichComp! It’s exciting for team members to find messages of support in the program and a good way for competitors to get to know you. And for family and friends, it’s an easy, relatively non-embarrassing way they can support you! ;) Get yours soon; there will be limited spot availability. Please fill out this form and pay the team $20 for each shoutout if you or someone you know is interested!
  • Arnold Videos: If you danced in the Arnold competition, please check out your dance videos on our Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/@TheUMBDT/)! Watching yourself dance is a great way to learn how to improve your skills.
