Hi Team,
On Sunday, Jason and I taught the international waltz, samba, and international tango. We got into the nitty gritty of technique and can’t wait to see what you all do with what we taught you. If you missed you can always go to Guided practice to catch up or DTS to ask an A team member to show you the moves.
Special Announcements for Everyone:
- EOS: Our End of Semester Party will be changing dates to later in April. The exact date and time are TBD but likely April 21st. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you can make it!
- Notre Dame and Northwestern: Unfortunately due to limitations in team resources, we cannot support the team going to three competitions in a row, especially when we are hosting one of the three. Because of this, the Board has made an executive decision for the team to use those resources on going to Northwestern instead of Notre Dame this year. We apologize for any inconvenience. It was a difficult decision for us to make. If you would still like to go to Notre Dame you are welcome to but you will have to organize your rooms and rides on your own. Please see their website here if that is what you plan to do. If you would like to go to Northwestern instead or in addition Amy will be sending out the email soon.
- MichComp R&R: Please fill out the R&R form for MichComp sent out by Amy last week! Also, if you have conflicts with volunteering for either set up or tear down, please remember to fill out the Volunteer Request Form!
- Elections for Board: I (Erika) sent an email on March 9th with the details on how to run for the board for next year. If you have any questions about positions or things you would like to run for, please reach out to a current member of the board. If you did not receive this email but are interested please let me know ASAP!
- DanceMix: What’s a DanceMix? It’s only a performance of the best dance orgs (including your favorite, the MBDT) on campus. When, you may ask? March 24th at 7 pm in the Power Center. Tickets will be $10 and they sell out fast. Please follow this link for tickets. You can catch the A team showing off the best choreo created by Steve and Susan on stage.
- Post DanceMix Social: If you are interested in getting down with us after watching the DanceMix performance by the A team, we will be headed to Club Above after the performance on March 24th.
- Michcomp Committee: Are you excited for Michcomp? This year, we are holding our own competition on April 15th. If you want to help us make sure everything runs smoothly, consider applying to be part of the Michcomp Committee! This is a low-commitment job that would only require a couple of hours a week. It would greatly help ease the load that’s put on our poor overworked board members, and it is a great way to contribute back to the team! Also, the people on the committee will receive compensation in the form of Ray’s eternal love and devotion. Apply here!
- Shout Outs: What is a shout-out? A shout-out is an encouraging note written by friends and family to team members, usually accompanied by a picture, that is printed in the Michcomp program! Shout-outs are a fun, easy way to support our dancers and the team during MichComp! It’s exciting for team members to find messages of support in the program and a good way for competitors to get to know you. And for family and friends, it’s an easy, relatively non-embarrassing way they can support you! ;) Get yours soon; there will be limited spot availability. Please fill out this form and pay the team $20 for each shoutout if you or someone you know is interested!
