Hi Team,
Welcome to the end of March! Yesterday S&S taught the international Waltz and Paso Doble. If you missed you can always go to Guided practice to catch up or DTS to ask an A team member to show you the moves.
Special Announcements for Everyone:
- DTS: Please be mindful of where you stop to chat at DTS. Please hug the walls if you need to discuss something with someone and do not stand in the middle of the floor for extended periods of time. In addition, please keep in mind how loud you talk in comparison to the music. It can be incredibly frustrating for people trying to practice if someone else is yelling over the music. Thank you!
- EOS: Our End of Semester Party will be changing dates to later in April. The exact date and time are TBD but likely April 21st. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you can make it!
- Northwestern: If you are going to the Northwestern competition, we are very very short on cars!!! Please consider volunteering to be a driver so your lovely teammates can compete and win blue ribbons:) Otherwise, Amy will group you into cars but you will need to find your own transportation to the comp.
- MichComp R&R: Please see Amy’s email for Michcomp R&R!! Consider volunteering to be a driver and/or a host :) Here is everything you need to do by April 3rd: R&R and Volunteering Request Form, registration, and payment. Please do not be late– there is a $10 late fee for every day R&R and payment is late!!!
- Elections for Board: I (Erika) sent an email on March 9th with the details on how to run for the board for next year. If you have any questions about positions or things you would like to run for, please reach out to a current member of the board. If you did not receive this email but are interested please let me know ASAP!
- Michcomp Committee: Are you excited for Michcomp? This year, we are holding our own competition on April 15th. If you want to help us make sure everything runs smoothly, consider applying to be part of the Michcomp Committee! This is a low-commitment job that would only require a couple of hours a week. It would greatly help ease the load that’s put on our poor overworked board members, and it is a great way to contribute back to the team! Also, the people on the committee will receive compensation in the form of Ray’s eternal love and devotion. Apply here!
- Shout Outs: What is a shout-out? A shout-out is an encouraging note written by friends and family to team members, usually accompanied by a picture, that is printed in the Michcomp program! Shout-outs are a fun, easy way to support our dancers and the team during MichComp! It’s exciting for team members to find messages of support in the program and a good way for competitors to get to know you. And for family and friends, it’s an easy, relatively non-embarrassing way they can support you! ;) Get yours soon; there will be limited spot availability. Please fill out this form and pay the team $20 for each shoutout if you or someone you know is interested!
