Hi Team,
Happy Monday! Happy last week of classes! I am so proud of all of you for making it this far. Two weeks of exams and then break time! Congrats if you are graduating this semester! If you missed the last newcomer lesson yesterday we missed you :( Steve and Susan taught a lovely Viennese Waltz and Samba lesson. I hope to see all of you at EOS on Saturday but if you can’t make it, we will miss you, and if you can make it, I can’t wait to see all of you dressed up (PS The dress code is semi-formal).
Announcements for Everyone:
- Merch: If you ordered merch, you need to contact Johny to arrange a pickup time. Please reach out to him via email (jonwdan@umich.edu) to find a time to hand them off.
- Team Closet: If you have borrowed anything from the team closet, please contact Johny (jonwdan@umich.edu) to return it. If you do not return what you’ve borrowed, you will not be able to go to EOS and we will be charging you for the item you did not return.
- Winter Gift Exchange: We got lots of interest! To officially sign up for the gift exchange, fill out this form. Remember that if you sign up you are responsible for buying a gift for whoever you get (we don’t want anyone to be left without a present!). Please fill it out by the end of Monday, Dec 4. Since a lot of people signed up, we are making it a separate event, so in the form let us know when you’re available for the gift exchange :)
- Team Game Night pt 2: Come manage your stress on Wednesday, Dec 6th from 7-10 pm (location MH 2325) and play some games with your teammates. You do not need to be “good” or competitive to play. All gamer levels are welcome (wood to diamond). BYOB (bring your own board games) or come play some of mine!
- EOS Showcase: We will have showcases at the IM on December 7th from 9-11 PM! Anyone is welcome to do a showcase. Showcases should be under three minutes long. Please fill out this form with everyone participating in the showcase and fun facts. The form is Due Wed Dec 6th at 11:59 PM.
- EOS Party: Our End of Semester party will be Saturday, December 9th at 8pm in 2435 North Quad! Everyone should contribute to the Potluck! Sign up for the potluck here. Afterparty details to come so save the date and get ready! If you are graduating this semester, please fill out this form for a sendoff DUE Wed Dec 6th at 11:59 pm. There will also be a talent show for you to display your non-ballroom skills! Sign up here DUE Thurs Dec 7th at 11:59 pm! The dress code is semi-formal so dress to impress!
- Ballroom Black Tie Formal Event: This will be happening December 10th from 5-9 pm. There will be food and the theme is black and white. More info to come!
- MichComp Committee: We host an amazing competition during the Winter semester, but in order to organize it, we need the help of you all! If you’re interested in joining the committee, please sign up here!
- Feedback Form: Do you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the team? We want to hear from you! Let us know by talking to a board member or by using the team’s anonymous feedback form on our website. Anything you report to us is 100% confidential.
- Practice Space Schedule: The spreadsheet for space availability can be found here. It includes availability for IMSB Multipurpose Rooms A and B as well as the Ballroom Club schedule. The schedule can only be done two weeks in advance due to IM policies, so check back regularly. If the schedule is out of date, you may need to call and confirm specifics but the general availability is the same.
