Hi Team!
Happy Sunday! Congratulations to all of our Purdue competitors on such an amazing job at competition this weekend! We have a few more weeks to rest up and practice before the Ohio Star Ball, and I hope you’re all as excited for that as I am! Today, Steve and Susan taught International Tango and Jive at newcomer lesson. If you have questions about what was taught, or any other dance-related questions while preparing for OSB, please come to DTS or Guided Practice this week.
Announcements for Everyone:
- SAPAC: We are holding our semesterly SAPAC workshop at 9:30pm on Tuesday Nov. 12th over zoom. This is MANDATORY if you want to attend our parties or competitions with us. If you can’t attend, we will have a makeup at a later date, but this date is very neatly and nicely put at the same time as DTS on that Tuesday so don’t go to DTS! Anna will send the zoom link a few days before so you can join.
- Game Nights: We have a game night this Tuesday from 7:30 – 9:30 PM in 2330 Mason Hall. We will be bringing a variety of games for you to play. Bring any games you want to play. This a fun place to get to know people over a variety of games.
- Laser Tag: We will be having a laser tag night at Best in Games Ann Arbor on 11/15! Please fill this form out if you want to go! Fill this out by 11/10 to make sure you have a ride.
- Bar Crawl: We will be having a bar crawl on Saturday! We will visit several bars on Main Street. Feel free to bring any other friends to join us! Sign up here by Wednesday if you’re interested and 21+. Johny will send an email to those who sign up later this week with a general timeline.
- Michcomp Committee Form: Every year we host our own competition Michcomp! Anyone who would like to work with your fellow teammates and make our competition smooth and fun for everyone fill out the form here.
- Competition Registration: The deadline for Ohio Star Ball Rooms and Rides and registration payment is Friday, November 15th at Midnight. Please fill out the registration form in Nate’s email and sign up for at most 10 events, not including two additional events for TBA leaders (check at most 10 boxes on the form).
- Photos albums: Please put your ballroom Halloween pictures in this album! Haunted house, corn maze, and Halloween party pictures are all welcome. Please also put your CMU and OSU pictures in these two!
- Themed DTS: Themed DTS every Wednesday. This Wednesday’s theme is PINK! On Wednesdays we wear pink to DTS.
- Partner Search: If you are looking for a partner, sign up and look here! Reach out to Johny at jonwdan@umich.edu with any questions.
- Other Practice Spaces: IMSB room schedule here. The Ballroom Dance Club lesson/open dance schedule here.
- Liability Waiver: Please fill out these yearly mandatory liability forms before coming to lessons and DTS! The IMSB liability form is here and the team waiver is here. Everyone needs to fill these out once per year and it does not take long so do them now before you forget!
