Hi Team!
Happy Sunday! Today we had a wonderful Swing and Paso Doble lesson from Steve and Susan. I can’t wait to see you all at DTS practicing your cool new moves and working on your showcases for this week. We have lots of important forms this week to fill out before EOS so please read through the announcements carefully and make sure everything gets submitted on time!
Announcements for Everyone:
- SAPAC: If you receive an email from Anna, that means you did not fill out SAPAC for this semester. If you do not fill out the form, you will not be allowed to attend EOS. Please fill out this semester’s SAPAC form. This is a MANDATORY part of being on the team; if the form is not filled out by 4/17 you will not be allowed to attend EOS.
- Elections: Ballroom board elections are coming up! Elections for the new board will be held at our EOS party on April 19th. Read the candidate’s platforms sent in a separate email!
- EOS: We will be having our End of Semester party on Saturday, 4/19 from 7:15 to 10 pm in room 2435 in North Quad! We have a lot to get through, so please arrive promptly or you risk missing voting. Please read the following bullet points for things to fill out/sign up to bring dishes:
- Ballroom Superlatives: First of the EOS things to fill out: fill out ballroom superlatives for our paper plate awards! DUE Wednesday 4/16
- EOS Potluck Signup: Please sign up here to bring something for the EOS potluck! Newcomers typically bring drinks and desserts, and upper-level team members must bring a main dish.
- Senior Sendoffs: Graduating seniors, please fill out this form to let us know who will be sending you off at EOS. Send-off-ers, you will receive an email informing you who wants you to send them off (in case if you didn’t get informed by them already), but the earlier the form is filled out by the send-off-ee, the better. :’( we will miss you seniors DUE Wednesday 4/16.
- Absentee Ballot Request: If you cannot attend the EOS potluck, you can fill out this form to request an absentee election ballot. DUE Wednesday 4/16.
- Themed DTS: Themed DTS every Wednesday. This Wednesday’s theme is emo! Wear your all black, band tees, chokers, black eyeliner, etc.
- Showcases: On 4/24, we will be having general showcases and dancing with the newcomer showcases. There is one form for both. Please fill out this form with what you’re dancing and with who and send the music to jonwdan@umich.edu by 4/22.
- Team Closet Return: Please return everything you borrowed from the team closet to Johny by arranging a time to drop them off. If you don’t, you will not be able to attend EOS. If you are planning on wearing them for a showcase, talk to Johny about it.
- W25 Approved Teachers: We recommend only asking for help regarding dance moves and technique from a list of couples approved by Steve and Susan. See the list here.
- W25 Competition Schedule: Check here for the dates of the competitions we’ll be attending this semester.
- Feedback Form: Do you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the team? We want to hear from you! Let us know by talking to a board member or by using the team’s anonymous feedback form on our website. Anything you report to us is 100% confidential.

It’s so crazy that the semester is almost over. I don’t know if you guys are feeling it as much as I am (it being mostly panic?? I need to lock in so bad this week). I’ll be around DTS again this week teaching. Also, with the parties coming up feel free to ask about social dances! I’d be happy to teach some stuff that you can use this weekend at EOS :)
