Hey everyone!
Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone is resting for their second week of classes and getting ready for our first ever practice in the Sports Coliseum tonight from 9-11pm! Thank you so much to everyone that came to the first two lessons of the semester; I can’t wait to see you at the rest!
- Free Newcomer Lessons and Tryouts – Our free lessons will again be held in the IMSB Multipurpose Room A on Sundays from 3-5pm and Thursdays from 9-11pm. The last free lesson will be September 18th, followed by Tryouts from 3-5pm on September 21st. I’ll be sending out Tryouts information this week, so keep your eyes peeled.
- New Practice Space – We will be moving to the Sports Coliseum starting TONIGHT, as announced yesterday at newcomer lesson. Practice will be held 9-11pm Monday through Thursday (Thursday practices are cancelled through 9/18 because of free lessons). You can park in the attached lot for free (but not overnight!) and come in through the entrance at the north of the building.
- Arb Field Day – We are going to the Arb on Saturday, 9/6 at 2pm to play games, kick a ball around, and hang out. Bring shoes you can run in, a ball if you’d like to use it, and your positive attitude! (Also, sunscreen and maybe bug spray)
- Showcases – We would like existing members to show our new members how awesome the team is. Fill out this form by Monday, 9/15. We want to show our newcomers the talent that we have on the team, so cook up something entertaining to show off the best you got.
- Leads and Follows Choreographers – Calling all seniors/soon-to-be graduates! If this is your last semester or year on the team, we would love to have you choreograph and/or be showcased in the Leads and Follows dance battle. Please fill out this form to ensure that your team wins the battle!
- Competition Interest Form – Please fill out the MBDT Fall 25 Competition Interest Form so we can get a rough estimate of competition attendance. This form is NON-BINDING, but please fill it out as accurately as you can.
- IU Cream and Crimson Classic – Our first competition of the semester will be the Cream and Crimson Classic on September 27, 2025! Look for an email from Emma (emmazink@umich.edu) if you are interested in attending. Registration is not open yet, but you will receive that link as soon as it is available!
- Carnegie Classic- The second competition of the year will be the Carnegie Classic on October 11th. Here is their website for more info. Registration email coming soon!
- Partner Search – If you are looking for a partner for tryouts, look no further! Fill out your information in the partner search form right here and don’t be scared to reach out to someone on the spreadsheet. You can also ask a board member for help if you’d like.
- Liability Waiver – Fill out this Liability Waiver before attending newcomer lessons at the IMSB or practices at the Sports Coliseum.
- Google Calendar – we’ll be adding practices, competitions, social events, etc., to the team google calendar here.
