Hey everyone!
Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their short week and the wonderful lesson from Steve and Susan today. Make sure to come to the Sports Coliseum for help with any of the new dances! This week marks the beginning of Meet The Teams, where we’ll see everyone who’s on each of the tryout teams. This week, it’s the Pre-C (see below):
- Themed Sports Coliseum – We have moved to the Sports Coliseum for practices. Practice will be held 9-11pm Monday through Thursday. The theme for Wednesday Sports Coliseum this week is GOTH DAY, wear all black and bring any accessories that fit the theme!
- Intro to Comp Night – We will be holding Intro to Comp Night on October 24th from 6-8pm at 1015 Vaughn. Text Rachel, Emma, Nelly or Taryn when you get there.
- Save the Date! – Ready for a night of fun and whimsy? Save the date for our super secret social event on Nov. 1!
- MichComp Committee – We will be having our first MichComp Committee meeting on November 2nd at noon in Mason Hall Rm 1339. We organize and support our home competition, which is happening next semester. You should totally help. Sign up for the interest list here, it’s no commitment but you will be in the loop.
- F25 Approved Teachers: We recommend asking for help regarding dance moves and technique from the list of couples approved by Steve and Susan to teach the newcomer lessons. See the list here.
- Ballroom Buddies – If you are nervous about coming up to approved teachers or upper-level team members at practice, worry not! You can sign up for ballroom buddies so you always have a go-to person to reach out to with questions, comments, or concerns. Your buddies can give you advice and help with anything from A to Z. This is particularly useful when it comes to practicing and comp prep.
- Other Practice Spaces – You can go to the IM Multipurpose Rooms outside our booked time, check the facility schedule here. The third floor of the Union also has a big, usually empty hallway to be in.
- OSB Interest Form– Please fill out this form to indicate your interest in attending the Ohio Star Ball this November.
- Partner Search – Check out the partner search spreadsheet!
- Google Calendar – Check the team calendar here.
- Google Photos – To preserve and share our team’s memories, place any photos you take in our google photo albums!
- Costume Sales – Looking for new gear for tryouts, practice, or competitions? Try the Dance America Deal of the Week or Discount Dance (currently having a 50% off sale on most things).
