Hey everyone!
It’s Ohio Star Ball Week! Yesterday, Steve and Susan went back over some dances from the beginning of the semester to get us competition ready – Foxtrot, cha cha, and mambo. I’m excited to see you all at practice and rounds – please reach out to any board member with questions about the competition.
- Ohio Star Ball- Get excited for OSB! Rooms and rides information will be sent out shortly. Check out the OSBible for general information.
- Ohio Star Ball Rounds – Review lessons will be replaced by Rounds for the Ohio Star Ball on 11/20. Everyone can come dance, even if you’re not competing! There will also be no newcomer lesson this sunday
- Themed Sports Coliseum – We have moved to the Sports Coliseum for practices. Practice will be held 9-11pm Monday through Thursday. The theme for Wednesday Sports Coliseum this week is Animal Day!
- SAPAC Training – Last Wednesday we held mandatory SAPAC training. For those who missed it, be on the lookout for makeup training info from Taryn, that will be sent out later this week.
- Holiday Gift Exchange – On Wednesday December 3, 2025 at the sports coliseum we will be having a holiday gift exchange! To participate please fill out this form by Monday Nov 24 at 11:59pm. Note that this is a binding form and has all of the necessary instructions in the description.
- MichComp – We’ll be holding our own competition next semester on March 21st at Skyline High School, so save the date!
- MichComp Committee – You should help us host our home comp next semester. Slides from meeting #1 found here, fill out THIS FORM to tell us what committee you want to be on, and fill out this When2Meet to tell us when you’re available. We’ll be having another meeting on December 5th, 7-9pm in Mason Hall 2437.
- Social Event with Purpose – We will be making signs for OSB on Thursday, THIS WEEK at 7:30pm before newcomer lesson at 415 E Hoover, Apt #305. We make signs so we can cheer folks on during the team match and the rest of the competition!
- Another Social Event! – We will be going ice skating at Yost on Sunday, December 7th from 1:30-2:50! It’s $5 to skate for students, $10 to skate for adults, and $5 to rent skates.
- And Another Fun Thing – Dancing With The Newcomers, Season 2, shall premier on the same day, December 7th during newcomer lesson. A, B, and C members: reach out to some newcomers to see if you’d like to pair up to showcase a fun dance at the end of the semester! Please fill out this form to opt in and request partners.
- Other Practice Spaces – You can go to the IM Multipurpose Rooms outside our booked time, check the facility schedule here. The third floor of the Union also has a big, usually empty hallway to be in.
- Partner Search – Check out the partner search spreadsheet if you are still looking for a partner, and if you are not available, please cross your name off.
- F25 Approved Teachers: We recommend asking for help regarding dance moves and technique from the couples approved by Steve and Susan to teach the newcomer lessons. See the list here.
- Liability Waiver – Fill out this Liability Waiver before attending newcomer lessons at the IMSB or practices at the Sports Coliseum.
- Google Calendar – Check the team calendar here.
- Google Photos – To preserve and share our team’s memories, place any photos you take in our google photo albums!
