Hey everyone!
It was wonderful seeing everyone dance at MSU this past weekend and I’m so excited to see everyone again at Northwestern! Here’s your WAG:
- Lesson Schedule – We will be having rounds for Northwestern on Thursday, 9-11pm at the IMSB this week instead of newcomer lesson. We’ll still have the normal lesson on Sunday. Everyone is welcome to come dance at rounds, regardless of whether you’re competing at Northwestern or even if you have a partner. Just come ready to dance!
- Ballroom Buddies & Valentines – The form was due on Sunday and Taryn will have matches out soon!
- Merch – Want to sport your ballroom spirit? Fill out this apparel form and venmo the team by Wednesday, Feb 4th at 11:59pm.
- Sticker Competition – Feeling creative? Submit your designs for our newest sticker here! Check the form description for details and prizes. Also, AI use is NOT permitted.
- Valentine’s Showcases – If you want to do a cute lil dance with your ballroom valentine or anyone else on the Thursday before Valentine’s Day (2/12), fill out this form.
- Valentine Party – We shall be honoring St. Valentine with a party on Friday, February 13th. Taryn will send the address and start time next week.
- SAPAC Training – Due to the unique nature of ballroom dance as a student group, we hold mandatory trainings with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center on Consent and Bystander Invervention. Training will be on Thursday Feb 19th at 7pm. Look out for more details coming from Taryn later this week.
- Practice Space – Our practice space schedule is a bit different this semester, pay close attention to where practices will be held. Here is the carpool signup sheet for the upcoming week.
- M 9:30-11:30 (DTS*), T 9-11 (IMSB), Th 9:30-11:30 (DTS*), F 5-7 (Sports Coliseum)
- This is subject to change based on competitions and other events (see Rounds above), so check back every week!
- MichComp – We’ll be holding our own competition next semester on March 21st at Skyline High School. Save the date!
- We’ll be advertising for Michcomp in the coming weeks. If you’re not on a tryout team and want to help, sign up here. If you know of any businesses that may want to advertise in the MichComp program, suggest them here!
- MichComp Committee – Our next meeting will be Wednesday, February 4th 9-10PM in Mason Hall 3315. Slides from meeting #1 found here, fill out THIS FORM to tell us what committee you want to be on.
- Partner Search – If you are looking for a partner to practice, compete, or try out with, come to the partner activity on February 17th, from 6-8pm in MH3314. You can meet other newcomers and we might play some games! Also, add your info to the partner search spreadsheet.
