Hey everyone!
Marvin and Emily taught a wonderful tango-rumba-mambo lesson today. Make sure to come practice or come to Guided Practice with any questions! We’ll be starting Meet The Teams this week, where you’ll get to learn all about the members of our beginner Tryout Team, the Pre-C.
- SAPAC Training – We hold mandatory trainings with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center on consent and bystander intervention. Training will be on Thursday Feb 19th at 7pm. Look out for details Taryn sent out last week.
- Practice Space – Here is the carpool signup sheet for the upcoming week.
- W26 Approved Teachers: We recommend asking for help regarding dance moves and technique from the couples approved by Steve and Susan to teach the newcomer lessons. See the list here.
- The Arnold: Emma has sent out registration information for Arnold. Please fill out our registration and Room and Ride request forms! We’ll be holding an Intro to Competitions night for all our new people on Tuesday 2/24.
- MichComp – We’ll be holding our own competition next semester on March 21st at Skyline High School. Save the date!
- We’ll be advertising for Michcomp in the coming weeks. If you’re not on a tryout team and want to help, sign up here.
- MichComp Committee – Our next meeting will be Friday, February 20th 9-10PM in Mason Hall 1339.
- Partner Search – If you are looking for a partner to practice, compete, or try out with, come to the partner search on February 17th, from 6-8pm in MH3314. You can meet other newcomers and we might play some games! Also, add your info to the partner search spreadsheet.

Iñigo and Juliana

Iñigo is a junior studying Secondary Science Education Grades 7-12. This is his 6th semester on the team, and his favorite dance is the Jive. Fun fact: “A 6 fingered man killed my father.” Juliana is a junior majoring in Cognitive Science and BCN (Biopsych, Cognition, and Neuroscience). This is her 6th semester on the team, and her favorite dance is MAMBO. Her fun fact is that she once took 4 full-sized novels in her backpack for vacation.
Maddie and Bailey

Maddie is a junior majoring in Music. This is her 6th semester on the team, and her favorite dance is the Swing! She also loves cats. Bailey is a junior double-major in Economics and Psychology, and this is her 5th semester on the team! She enjoys the Rhythm Rumba. Fun fact: She works at a local elementary school and now knows the lyrics to every K-Pop Demon Hunters song.
Jaxon and Grace

Jaxon is a sophomore studying Cognitive Science – Computation, and this is his 2nd semester on the team. His favorite dance is the Quickstep! His fun fact is that he turns bright red at parties. Grace is a junior studying Sociology and Social Work. This is her 2nd semester on the team, and her favorite dances are the American Waltz and the Samba. Every night before bed, she eats exactly one dill pickle. It’s part of her routine.
Aileen and Ava

Aileen is a junior studying Business. This is her 3rd semester on the team, and she loves all the Latin and Rhythm dances! She’s also a published poet! Ava is a freshman majoring in Biology, Health, and Society! This is her 2nd semester on the team, and her favorite dance is the Cha Cha. She’s played the cello for six years!
Elan and Sianna

Elan is a sophomore studying Computer Science. This is his 2nd semester on the team, and his favorite dance is the Jive. He does improv comedy on campus! Sienna is a sophomore majoring in Communications and minoring in Economics and Entrepreneurship. This is her 2nd semester on the team, and her favorite dance is International Rumba. Her fun fact is that she was born on Halloween.
As a reward for reading this far into the WAG, I will teach you the hammerlock in the Swing!
