Hey everyone!
It was wonderful to see everyone at lesson today, where Steve and Susan taught Viennese Waltz, Paso Doble, and Cha Cha. These are some difficult new dances, so make sure to come to practice and to review lesson, taught by Marie and yours truly this week. Here’s your WAG:
- Elections – The most important part of the end of the semester is electing our board for next year. Please review the platforms for all of our candidates and fill out an absentee ballot request if you will be unable to attend by midnight on Wednesday, 4/15!
- End of Semester (EOS) Gathering – Our end of semester gathering, including elections for next year’s board, will be held on the night of Saturday 4/18!
- Please fill out this EOS potluck sheet – tryout team members traditionally bring a main, newcomers drinks and desserts. Also, please do NOT bring alcoholic beverages to a university building as this can impact our ability to host in these spaces in the future!EOS W26 potluck
- You can vote for funny superlatives with this form by April 15th. Out your friends for their goofiness! :P
- Last Tryout Team Lessons – The final tryout team lessons will be held the Saturday after EOS, 4/25. Steve and Susan will poll everyone for their availability around exams. Also, make sure to fill out Rachel’s summer lesson form!
- Team Closet – Because the end of the year is coming up on us, it’s time to return your team closet items! Bring them to Sunday newcomer lesson sometime soon, or coordinate with Taryn or Nelly to drop them off some other time.
- MSU Masquerade Ball – The MSU Ballroom Team is hosting a Masquerade Ball on Friday, April 17th from 8:00 to 10:30pm. Look at ride assignments HERE. Deadline to request changes is April 12th.
- Showcases – We will be having showcases at the end of the semester on Thursday, April 16th at the end of newcomer lesson, fill out this form by April 12th to sign up! Also make sure you invite your favorite GSIs and professors to try out ballroom and see the showcases!
- Bowling – We are going bowling on Tuesday, April 28th at 8pm at Lucky Strike Ann Arbor, 1950 S Industrial Hwy. It will be $22/person for unlimited bowling all night and shoe rental. Fill out this form to give/get a ride.
- Competitions: Thank you all for competing with us this year. Please save the date for our biggest competitions for next year. Ohio Star Ball: Nov 21-22, 2026 and The Arnold Dancesport Classic: March 6-7, 2027
