Hey y’all, let’s get into gear for competition #1 of this semester. I have updates for the week right below.
- Lesson Schedule – We will continue to have newcomer lessons on Sundays from 3-5pm, and review + guided practice on Thursdays from 9-11pm, all at the IMSB MPR A.
- Fall Practice Spaces – This week’s costume theme is EMO. Express the pain deep in your soul at practice Monday through Wednesday!
- Monday: Sports Coliseum, 9-11pm
- Tuesday: IMSB MPR A, 9-11pm
- We will be having ROUNDS for Carnegie instead of practice!
- Wednesday: DTS, 10pm-12am

- Corn Maze Social – We will be going to a corn maze on the evening of Friday, October 16th at 6pm (departing at 5:30)! Fill out this form by 10/11 to RSVP and get a carpool assignment. Tickets are $14, pay the team via venmo or cash.
- Ballroom Buddies – If you are nervous about coming up to approved teachers or upper-level team members at practice, worry not! You can sign up for ballroom buddies by 10/11 so you always have a go-to person to reach out to with questions, comments, or concerns. Your buddies can give you advice and help with anything from A to Z.
- Competitions – Our first two competitions are coming up! See Emily’s emails with information and the Rooms & Rides forms for both the Carnegie Classic (10/10) and OSU Dancesport Classic (10/24). Also, fill out THIS FORM to tell us what competitions you may be interested in! It is non-binding but it helps us budget so things can be cheaper for YOU!
- MichComp Committee Interest Form – We also host MichComp, our own competition, in the Winter Semester (2/20/2027)! If you are interested in joining one of the committees that helps us run MichComp, please fill out THIS FORM by FRIDAY THE 9TH!
- Partner Search – We are holding a partner search event on SUNDAY, 10/11 from 11am-1pm at Mason Hall 2469, where you can show up and talk to prospective partners in a speed-dating style social. Fill out THIS FORM(if you haven’t already) if you are interested in attending!
- Save the Date – Ohio Star Ball: Nov 21-22, 2026, MichComp: February 20,2027, and The Arnold Dancesport Classic: March 6, 2027!
- Approved Teachers
- Our coaches select several upper-level dancers as approved teachers for lessons and practices. These are the best people to reach out to with technical questions about dance, competing, etc. See their names and photos here!
