MichComp Team Photo

Congratulations on a successful 17th annual Michigan Ballroom Dance Competition!!

Thank you so much for all of your hard work both on and off the dance floor to ensure MichComp was a success! Everything ran pretty seamlessly and I hope you all had as much fun as I did at our last comp of the year. Things are starting to wrap up for the year, but we still have some awesome UMBDT events in store!

Elections: Please send the Exec Board (ballroom-exec@umich.edu) your platforms for the one or two positions you are running for by next Saturday, April 15th! You can review the info about elections from my previous email here. I highly encourage everyone that is even remotely considering applying to go for it! If you have any questions, go to office hours or chat with me or any of the current board members and we would be more than happy to help.

EOS: Our End of Semester party (EOS) will be taking place on Saturday, April 22nd! More logistics will be released soon, but meanwhile, please fill out the items listed below by midnight next Saturday, April 15th.

  • Senior Send-off: If this will be your last semester on our team, please fill out this form so that we can recognize you!
  • Superlatives: At the end of every year, we elect next year’s board members and mock awards! Nominate your fellow team members for titles such as Crazy Party Animal and MVP here.
  • $$$: In order to attend EOS, you must be in good financial standing with the team! Plan on paying off your entire balance or working out a payment plan with Emily ahead of time in order to attend.
  • Potluck Sign-up: Along with having paid any debts off to the team, you also need to bring a dish to pass as part of your ticket to EOS! Assignments are decided by team, so please sign up for what you will bring on the sheet here.
  • Dress to the Nines: The dress code for EOS is semi-formal, so men bust out that suit and tie and ladies bring out your best dress to celebrate the evening in :)

Winter Semester Feedback: Once again, we are sending out a Google Form to get feedback on what went well and what could be improved in regards to our team this semester. This information will be taken into consideration by both this year and next year’s executive board for future planning. To contribute to our team’s future success, please fill out the form here by Monday, April 17th.

Favorite Team Moments: One of the last parts of the feedback survey asks you to share about your favorite team moments from this year. Most of the feedback survey results will be used for internal planning, however, this section may be included in EOS! Please share your favorite memories of the year with our team either in the form, or with me directly (hirtlind@umich.edu) and it may be highlighted during our celebration. Pictures are welcome too!

Dance Mix: Celebrate the last day of classes by watching A team perform in Dance Mix, Tuesday April 18th! You can find the Facebook event here and you can get a free ticket if you pick up a Passport to the Arts, available in dorms and other University buildings. These always go fast, so make sure you grab them ASAP! If you miss them, you are welcome to purchase a normal ticket still for $10. We will try and get seats together as a team, so look for more info on that coming soon.
